This one needs no introduction. However, there'd be no point me being here otherwise so here goes...
When thinking about the best in grime, a few names might come to mind. There's multiple factors that all play a part in your thoughts, whether that's bars, flows, production, brand or anything else, and these usually create a vast range of opinions to debate over. However, your top 3 will be absolutely cemented after hearing this EP.
Kruz Leone. Duppy. Logan. They're all on one EP together. And it's exactly what it says on the tin.
Top 3 is a fine demonstration of grime coming together and breaking the boundaries even further. This EP is just astounding in every way, with two of the best producers in grime - being Logan and the MOBO award nominated Duppy - sharing the responsibility of the instrumentals on this project and all three MCs coming together on half of the songs. Each artist also takes the time to remind us exactly how cold they are individually as well. One aspect that I found quite cool was that on Logan's individual vocal track, Duppy is on production and vice versa. It's another way to seperate this EP from their own music and give this project a unique sound.
Kruz Leone has been one of the best barrers in the game for a while now, so don't think that just because he isn't bringing the production that he doesn't shine on this project as well. He stars across all of his performances on this EP, especially on the final track, where his closing verse is the knockout hook to anyone who tries to challenge the Top 3 for their thrones. All three artists bring 110% on what is one of the best projects of the year, and as of writing this sentence, it's been out for a grand total of 54 minutes.
This EP is definitely a testament to the fusion of talents, and as Kruz puts it, this "meeting of minds" has resulted in "something truly special; a fusion of our individual energies into a grime masterpiece". It's impossible to argue with that.
