Rolla & TCDAGENIUS - BD13 II

Rolla and TCDAGENIUS have been producing some of the best grime coming out of the scene recently, and their latest project is no different.

The sequel to their 2019 EP, BD13 II sees the duo trade their artistic talents over a full length mixtape, captivating their listeners with a variety in their sound. From Rolla’s standout hooks to the brash and assertive delivery of TC’s bars, this project shows the two MCs at their finest. Tracks such as Sometimes present the artist at their most open and honest, where as What Can They Say with the legendary Devlin remind us of the gritty and lyrical ability that all three have over a hard-hitting grimey instrumental.

It's the variety in sound that stands out on this project, which is even more of a testament to Rolla and his production when you consider that he produced all but two of the tracks on here. The production style blends the fast-paced tempos of grime with a succinct melodic and introspective tone to a couple of the tracks, with Time Flies and Window being exceptional examples of this. This isn't just the Rolla show however, as TCDAGENIUS makes sure that he doesn't let up with his verses across the project, as he is able to stand out on every song with his flows and delivery, regardless of the sound that the production is going for.

This mixtape features some of the scene’s finest featuring across this track list and with an extra special guest on the closing track, BD13 II has to be up there in one of your best releases of 2024 so far.
