Blay Vision is one of the best that the grime scene has to offer. Whether it is his ability with the bars or his ability with the beats, Blay excels at both and has shown that numerous times throughout his career. This brand-new album is yet another demonstration of exactly why he should be held in such high regard.
Blay Vision's ability to perfectly match his vocals to a track is the biggest reason why this album is so good. That can come in the form of the right amount of boastful confidence that he takes big strides in on tracks like Elephant In The Room, which is a perfect track to draw your listeners into an album with, or with his melodies and hooks, which he showcases brilliantly on Alive with Dapz on the Map, which is one of the standout tracks on the album. He makes a variety of tracks special with these, which further shows you that he is one of the catchiest writers in the scene, just in case you needed reminding. He takes the listener on a musical journey throughout this album, with the introspective parts of this album reminding us why Blay has called the album Gift and Curse, with the interludes and outerlude tying into the musical concept as well.

Blay's versatility across genres cannot be understated either. With a range of tempos on show here, across a monster eighteen-track album, the MC never once makes you bored. He effortlessly combines his signature style - either lyrically or sonically - over a variety of sounds, of which Over Bless is definitely a standout. Blay reminds us of his involvement in Jme's album Grime MC, and its subsequent success, as he states that: "3 of those beats were mine". The dream team collaborate again on this album, with the penultimate track Elevator Theory being a powerful and gritty way to close the album and make a statement. Jme production is always welcomed, you can tell as soon as the track is played that he produced it, and Blay does more than justice to it.

Overall, this album is definitely one of the best that 2024 has had to offer so far. It's just so easy to listen to Blay Vision's music, you can have it on repeat for ages and not get bored. With the variety on offer here, I just cannot see why you wouldn't.
